Ken Shamrock Fighting Pedro Rizzo at July 17th Impact FC Event Published Thursday, May 20th, 2010 at 6:23 pm July 17th, 2010 – Ken Shamrock will face off against Pedro Rizzo at the Sydney Entertainment Centre in Sydney, Australia Sunday July 17th – this fight is part of FC’s “Uprising” series. Impact FC has secured some of the worlds best fighters for their upcoming shows and will feature some huge names including Pride and UFC veterans. The Sydney lineup includes: Ken Shamrock VS Pedro Rizzo Fans will be thrilled to know that ‘Big John’ McCarthy, former head referee for the Ultimate Fighting Championship will be the referee for The Uprising series. The Sydney show will go live from 12:00pm on July 18th – The Main Event PPV and throughout USA at 10:00pm on the East Coast and 7:00pm on the West Coast and Canada on July 17th. Ken Shamrock, 45, is a former UFC Super Fight champion and UFC Hall Of Famer. When asked why Ken didnt fight Pedro Rizzo back in 1999 for UFC 23 when word was he might, Ken replied “They never offered it to me”. Ken has started his training regimen up in Northern Nevada – specifically Mt. Rose where the elevation is 9,000 feet. Ken says his cardio is great and he is feeling very strong. I asked Ken a couple of question about the upcoming fight and the recent death of his father, Bob Shamrock, “It feels good to get back in the ring, especially knowing that my father will be watching me from above.
