Under the instruction of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt instructors Denis Gomes and Carlos Eduardo Farias, Lion’s Den Scottsdale students are mastering the skills needed to excel in the sport. The proof is in the results; four students in the Lion’s Den Scottsdale BJJ youth program took top honors at the 11th Annual AZ Grappling Challenge. Lion’s Den Scottsdale Partner and Arizona Cardinals player Scott Peters had this to say, “We are very proud of our BJJ students in the youth program here at the Lion’s Den. They had the opportunity to really show their BJJ skills at the tournament and they did just that. All of our students did a phenominal job.” Lion’s Den Founder Ken Shamrock added, “We are very fortunate to have two Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belts instructing Lion’s Den youth classes in Scottsdale. Denis and Carlos are not only BJJ black belts; they have won several championship titles in the sport. Both instructors came to us from Brazil and trained under MMA Veteran and Abu Dhabi Champion Roberto Spider Traven, a 5th degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. No other youth program in Arizona offers this level of training to their students.” Lion’s Den Student results from the 11th Annual Arizona Grappling Challenge: 1st Place Bret Trivitt 7-9 Years Old Heavy/White: Anthony Laguna 1st Place 10-12 Years Old Rooster/White Chance Ikei 2nd Place Brock Locnikar 2nd Place Denis Gomes and Carlos Eduardo Farias have over 20 years of combined experience in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and both hold multiple championship titles in the sport.
